Old Parliament House Gardens Tennis Club
“A rose among political thorns”
The Old Parliament House Rose Gardens, bounded by King George and Queen Victoria Terraces in Parkes, Canberra were conceived deliberately as an integral part of the Provisional Parliament House building.
These 87 year old gardens, created from a sheep paddock, are amongst the most outstanding and historically interesting gardens in Australia today. Reconstructed just over ten years ago by the National Capital Authority, The Old Parliament House Gardens are of great historical and landscape beauty.
Within the gardens there are five tennis courts which have been hidden away from the public until now. Tennis Canberra and their energetic team has taken over management and opening the courts to the entire Canberra community.
