Tennis CBR Cares: Light The Night Canberra – A forward step for the Leukaemia Foundation
We do what we do on the tennis court however our passion for better health extends deep into our communities. Friday October 9 will see the Tennis Canberra Family walk for the fight and research of Leukaemia. Make a donation or join the team – little efforts by many turn into future differences.
Tennis CBR Cares: Help Yvonne Green raise funds for Breast Cancer
Help Yvonne Green raise funds for Breast Cancer
Canberra Tennis Family member Yvonne has recently lost her best friend to Breast Cancer. Although there has been a widespread of awareness and major breakthroughs in preventing the disease more needs to be done to finally find a cure. We will be supporting Yvonne in this tough time and I ask our fellow family members to lend a helping hand. You can donate to Yvonne’s fundraising page via the link below.
Happy 2nd Birthday Tennis Canberra – It’s been a roller-coaster!
On behalf of our team I want to thank everyone that attended Tennis Canberra’s 2nd birthday celebrations. It’s been one hell of a ride and we can officially say that we’re not going anywhere any time soon. Running a new business isn’t easy and the stresses of turning a passion to a sustainable lifestyle can sometimes put a downer on what you love to do. Saying that we’ve struck lucky and every player, volunteer and staff member has only added the the positive community environment I set out to build. Our story is short however eventful to say the least and already looking forward to the future of Tennis Canberra.

Supporting the research and cure of type 1 diabetes. Many of us have friends that have type 1. We cannot relate to how they manage it however the support from the extended community goes along way.
The Tennis Canberra family demonstrated why we are more than a simple tennis academy. A handful of coaches, competition supervisors and friends got our boogie on for a good cause. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation better known as JDRF targets the well-being and the research of Type 1 diabetes.
For those that don’t understand the difference between Type 1 & 2 diabetes, Type 1 cannot be prevented and usually diagnosed at a young age. Type 2 diabetes is preventable however it has been more focal in the last decade as the rise obesity and poor lifestyle changes are the predominant reason for the rise of Type 2.
Consequently, I believe more needs to be done in promoting the Type 1 disease as there is no cure and an answer through constant research and support would change the world of a kid with Type 1 and give parents who have to worry 24/7 some peace of mind.
On behalf of the Tennis Canberra Family, I would like to personally thank and congratulate the JDRF Development Coordinator for the ACT & Regional NSW and Tennis Canberra friend Mel Eveille for a letting us be part of this fantastic event and letting us help your cause. We all had a great time and chuffed our donation of tennis lessons go for more than it’s worth in the silent auctioned. We are (Richie & I) over-the-moon with the signed Canberra Raiders Jersey too. Until next year!

Win a Head Extreme Racket (Richard Gasquet’s racquet of choice)
On the 16th of May, 2015 The Kozlow family will be heading to Nice, France. Saskia our 11-year-old tennis junior will be representing the Tennis Canberra family at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy (ISP). Her training will include full time on-court workouts, private lessons (3) from the best coaches in the world plus a tennis experience that could change her life. Although this may seem like an exciting opportunity it does come at a cost. Without sponsors her parents Hayden and Jenny have personally invested a lot to make this happen. We would love to help Saskia as we know talent can only go so far and without support and structure from the greater community. For that reason, the next 2 weeks the Tennis Canberra team will be selling raffle tickets with all profits going towards Saskia and the Kozlow family.
Tickets are $5 each and you have the chance to win a brand new Head Extreme Racket (MP or lite – depending on what suits you) which retails at $330 AUD. This Racket is used by Richard Gasquet (and Coach Robbie). The raffle will be drawn Saturday the 16th at 11am by Saskia herself. The winner will be announced on our Facebook Page and notified by email and phone.
Post project: On behalf of Tennis Canberra and the Kozlow family we would like to thank the Canberra Community for supporting this #TennisCBRCares Support Program. We successfully raised $360 for young Saskia, our raffle was drawn and the winners are posted below.
